Bob Murphy has performed with Ernestine Anderson, Chuck Berry, Richie Cole, Larry Coryell, Phil Dwyer, Gil Evans, Lionel Hampton, John Handy, Eddie Harris, Freddie Hubbard, Lee Konitz, Fraser MacPherson, Henry Mancini, Warne Marsh, James Moody, P.J. Perry, Sam & Dave, Dusty Springfield, Kenny Wheeler, Jimmy Witherspoon and Dave Young. Leading his own bands, Murphy has opened for Cannonball Adderley, Ornette Coleman, Miles Davis, Woody Herman, Buddy Rich and Sarah Vaughan.

A professional musician by age 14, Bob stands today as a seasoned master of jazz piano. He is a veteran of the Vancouver and Toronto music scenes. Bob has worked as a Musical Director and accompanist for CBC and CTV television on such programs as The Alan Thicke Show and The Alan Hammel Show. He has written and produced music for film, video and commercials, and has often recorded his own compositions for CBC's various national jazz radio programs.

Bob's melodic style is influenced by Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, Miles Davis, Cannonball Adderley and John Coltrane, among others, but his approach is unmistakably his own.
